A breast cancer study done in 1994
by Dr. Janet Daling (an abortion supporter), with the Fred Hutchinson
Cancer Research Center, found an overall 50% increase among
young women who had an abortion. This study further divided
the risk by age, showing 2 1/2 times the risk in women who had
an abortion before age 18, and twice the risk in women who had
their abortion after age 30.
“I have three sisters with breast cancer and I resent
people messing with scientific data to further their own agenda,
be they pro-choice or pro-life. I would have loved to have found
no association between breast cancer and abortion, but our research
is rock solid and our data is accurate. It’s not a matter
of believing, it’s a matter of what is.””

advocate who is the lead author of the only published study
to be commissioned by the National Cancer Institute to investigate
the link between abortion and breast cancer. L.A. Daily News,

That 28 out of 37 worldwide
studies have independently linked induced abortion with breast
cancer.
Thirteen out of fifteen studies conducted on American women
report increased risk.
The first study was published in an English publication in 1957 and focused on Japanese women. It showed a 2.6 relative risk or 160% increased risk of breast cancer among women who'd had an induced abortion. |
