I Want to Live

Two precious feet
Ten little toes
And even heartbeat
Intellect, will and soul
Two dimpled cheeks
Two innocent eyes
such flawless skin
and an innocent mind
Two
ears to hear
Little nose to smell
Tiny fingers to feel
And a voice to tell
Two knees to kneel
Bitty hands to fold
This infant prays
With two eyes closed
"I want to live"
Just to be alive
That is all they ask
With tears in their eyes
See in this face
The helpless
human
race
The ones who die every day
The unborn babes
Awards were distributed and the winning

Breakfast in April at Barbagallo's.
